Not many boys stop us in our tracks by looking fancy a.k.a. the epitome of dashingly, done up. But, when we Style Spy girls – Erica, Christie and moi made our rounds at the fetes recently, our stilettos came to a screeching halt at the sight of Guy of the Week RAFFAELE MEGARO. The tall, dark, and handsome Raffaele is the buyer and visual display artist at JNBY – the clothing chain originally from China that gifted Vancouver with its first North American store. Read on as we unwrap our gift, Raffaele, we mean ask him questions sticking to the script.
What are you wearing: Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair cropped cuff pants, Zara forest green sweater, Rag & Bone button-up dress shirt, Le Chateau bowtie, vintage, patent leather, grey dress shoes and an H&M peacoat.
Do you always look this dapper: Yes, I like the Duckie Brown, preppy gent look. But I’m a very experimental dresser, so I’m always playing around with what I wear and I never take myself too seriously
Spring trends dictate the unbuttoned shirt is in. How low will you go: I only unbutton to the second button. On a collared shirt anything lower and it gets a little chochy for me.
Three things you won’t live without: Calvin Klein Steels in every colour, my peace sign ring and Nutella.
Best grooming tip: Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious me for a good head of messy curls and Kiehls Multi-Purpose Facial Formula.
If you had a superhero costume under your suit, who would it be and why: Captain America….because he’s the American dream.
Splurge on: A Goyard St. Louis leather bag for summer.
Top shops: Roden Gray, Comme Des Garcons, Opening Ceremony in NYC, Front & Company, and Jonathan and Olivia.
Signature cologne: A little bit of Arpege Cologne by Lanvin with a little bit of Dior Homme mix.
If you wrote your own Men’s Guide to Style, what would the first chapter be called: Chapter One Courage: How to Pin Your Kilt.
