Girl of the Week: Amrit Baidwan

This week’s Girl of the Week, AMRIT BAIDWAN is the lovely owner of Ishara, a sweet store at Oakridge Centre. Don’t miss this undiscovered retail gem, filled with delightful brands like Smythe, Graham & Spencer, ba&sh and Development.

I’m rocking… Madison Marcus silk dress (with pockets!), tights by 39sixtyone, Toodlebunny Buddha charm necklace (all from Ishara), Hugo Boss heels, and a hair band I picked up in NYC.

Style notes… Sophisticated yet feminine with LOTS of color

Fave designers… I love some of the more contemporary designers; Rory Beca, Madison Marcus, Tibi, Barila. They have the design and construction of some of the more established design houses, but with a younger, more modern edge.

Beauty routine… Frequent facials at Spruce Body Lab, Principessa Bacio Me lip balm and a Shu Uemura eyelash curler.

Feel your best in… Dresses; one step and you’re done, it’s the easiest outfit to pull together and you always look polished.

Splurge on… A well tailored jacket or coat. It sets off any outfit and is well worth the investment.

Trend you’re itching to try… A full jumpsuit; it’s such a glam look, but I’m not sure if I’m quite ready for it yet.

Currently craving… Cupcakes

Best find ever… A heavily embellished Pashmina I picked up at a market in India.

Fashionably inspired by… Diane von Furstenberg; not only for the iconic wrap dress, but for continuing to present bold prints, femininity and glamour as a way of life.

You can never have too many… Handbags; there’s always room for one more.

Fashion commandments… Don’t try to look like everyone else, the more color the better, and tights are not pants!
