It’s hard to miss Girl of the Week STEPHANIE JHALA. We first met her at Wink Beauty Lounge, she was a blonde back then, and for a while, she was sporting a pony maine. Spunky and smiley, Steph is one of those girls who captures your attention in a room. A total smartpants – she’s currently studying her MBA and multicultural, she’s a Chindu (she told us to call her that), half Chinese and half Indian, we’re excited to introduce you to Steph!
Rockin… I’m definitly a bargain hunter and a strong believer that good fashion doesn’t have to come at a high price. My plaid blazer was found at Joe Fresh. My classic Elizabethan top is from Zara. My black tights (which have zippers up the back leg) are from Urban Outfitters. The shoes are Gwen Stefani L.A.M.B shoes.
My style is… I am certainly a fashion chameleon. Fashion is a means of self-expression and creativity. So I love changing personas and looks. Some of my favorite styles include: office “haute-couture”, androgenous looks, vintage dirty hippie, even hobo-chique!
Best places to shop… I am so spoiled… but it’s Asia! That’s really how my fashion stays so fresh!
I owe my lovely hair to… Jenna Maclean at Juice Salon (1041 Cambie Street, Vancouver). She does the raddest pony maines and anything else!
Beauty must-have… I cannot live without my blush and mascara!!! Otherwise I may look like a 12 year old boy!
Can’t live without… My snowboard socks!! I love snowboarding!
Just rang up on the visa… My beautiful L.A.M.B pumps.
Will be adding to my visa… A sequin blazer and feathered skirt.
Style icons… Irish singer-songwriter Roisin Murphy.
Travel delight… Malaysia – because the people and amongs the most friendliest people in the world! And the food is to-die-for!
Guilty pleasure… Watching 4 hours of “So You Think You Can Dance” then copying the dance moves in front of the mirror in the bathroom by myself.
