A few years ago, if someone suggested tapered pants to me, I would have rolled my eyes and laughed. Maybe on 90210 – the original! But tapered pants have returned for 2010 in the form of the peg leg. The peg leg pant has a higher rise with a pleated waist and usually features a tapered leg that rolls at the ankle. It’s almost a similar cut to boyfriend jeans, but instead of denim, it comes in more drapey, trouser fabric. Think cotton, silk, lyocell or polyester blends. If you have bigger calves (like I do) then it’s best to go with a slightly stretchy version. You may want to try going a size down in this style – they’re more flattering when fitted. The high waist looks perfect with cropped tops or a tucked camisole (especially the Wilfred bustier tank). Dress it up with a blazer and heels or keep it casual with a loose cardigan. And remember, 90210 is back in more ways than one.
