Avoid Breakouts From Your Makeup Brushes
Do you leave your makeup brushes rolling around the bottom of your purse or your makeup bag collecting dirt and germs? Dirty brushes can cause acne and congestion. Even brushes that sit out on a counter collect dust and bacteria. That’s why cleaning your makeup brushes regularly is a must to get rid of all traces of makeup, oil and buildup that can cause skin breakouts.
Brushes should be cleaned at least every two weeks. To clean brushes, combine a dime-sized amount of gentle shampoo or baby shampoo to warm water in a bowl. Work the brush into the shampoo, keeping the handle pointed up. Rinse the brush thoroughly under running water, careful to avoid letting water get down to where the bristles meet the handle. Shape the brush with your fingers. Lay the brush flat to air dry on a table or counter and let the brush head hang off the side. Avoid standing the brush up because this can cause damage to the bristles.
Cleaning your makeup brushes regularly will help them last longer and keep your skin happy and healthy. In between uses, use a brush cleaner for quick cleanings.
