Braids are such an easy hairstyle for the summer time. The weather can get hot and sticky, and if you have long hair like myself, keeping it off your face is of top priority. How cute would this look be for a weekend date? Plus, once you take them out at nighttime, you’d be left with pretty beach waves fit for a mermaid. Here is my step-by-step how-to to achieve this classic braid.
What you need for this simple hairstyle are bobby pins, a comb, and hair elastics that match your hair colour. Start by parting your hair down the middle, and use your comb to make a sleek, straight part all the way to the back of your head. Separate your hair into two sections and braid each section into low pigtails. Secure with hair ties. Next, grab some bobby pins and pull one braid over your head like a headband. Using the bobby pins, secure the braid on the top of your head, and make sure that the pins are hidden. Repeat with the other braid, and then tuck the tail end of the second braid under the first. Secure with more pins. Lastly, pull some front pieces out to frame your face and create a messier look. If you don’t already have wavy hair, you can use a curling iron to create gentle waves with the loose pieces. Pair with denim cut-offs, a cute, slouchy tee and some bangles for an effortlessly boho chic look!
