This week’s Girl of the Week, Brooke Siebert, grew up in the country and moved to the city when she was 16 years old. Brooke went to school to become a hairstylist, but soon discovered that she was more interested in the fashion aspect of the industry. She loves music and currently works at Front & Company on Main Street, as well as a bar in Kits. Brooke enjoys being in Vancouver because it gives you the opportunity to play with different trends and keep things new and edgy. Meet Brooke.

Wearing…I was wearing an assortment of clothes. I like going to new stores all the time so I rarely wear things from the same place. I’m wearing my green cargo pants from Winners with my favourite comfy moccasins. The flowered top is consignment, the blouse is from H&M, the shawl/vest is from BCBG, the hat is from Front & Company, and all the jewellery is vintage.

My personal style…I like being comfortable (I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl), but I like comfortable to look good. I love a bit of edge so if I go with a dress I’ll pair it with combat boots and lots of jewelry. I have always loved the punk rock glam style, so lots of rips and tears with a pair of sexy pumps.

What’s your sign? I’m a Libra – balanced and loving, but with a need for adventure and excitement.

What are you looking forward to in 2012…I’m looking forward to moving to Europe for a few years. Then I’m coming home and going to pastry school to become a pastry chef.

Three items to save from a fire…Does my wardrobe count as one? Seriously I couldn’t live without my clothes and shoes! Only 3 things? I would have to say my roommate, my favourite pair of jeans and my Dr. Martens!

Favourite local hot spots…I love going to Elwood’s in Kitsilano; they have excellent food! The Whip on Main Street is great, as well as, Falconetti’s on Commercial Drive.

Drink of choice…My drink of choice would have to be a double Jameson on the rocks.

Beauty Must-have…For me concealer and chap stick all the way! No one likes the look of bags and chapped lips.

Repeat buy…I’m a huge fan of Burt’s Bees pomegranate chapstick and American Apparel t-shirts. Can’t have enough!

Currently saving up for…A trip to New York in the spring. I need a new summer wardrobe and I figured that would be the perfect place to start.

Favourite accessories…I have an obsession with vintage rings lately (especially turquoise). I also have a long gold necklace with an anchor on the bottom from my best friend that I couldn’t live without.

Words to live by…I have always loved sayings by Oscar Wilde. One of my favourites is “Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.”
