Get Shorty

Pants can get boring in the winter. So why not try adding a pair of winter shorts to your wardrobe?

The first thing to know when you are picking a pair of winter shorts is to choose one with heavier fabrics such as suede, wool, tweed or leather. The nice thing about these fabrics is that they look dressier than your average pair of summer shorts. This allows for a versatile look  when you are pairing your shorts with a thick pair of wool tights. I generally like to stick with black tights, but it’s also fun to add burgundy, forest green or mustard yellow to the mix.

As for the top, layer, layer layer! For a casual look, throw on a tank with an oversized plaid shirt, a wool cardigan, biker boots and a bold knit infinity scarf. When taking your shorts for a night out, tuck a silk shirt into your shorts and pair it with a coloured leather belt, ankle booties, and a thick wool jacket. You can top off the look with your favourite jewelry and a winter hat!
