On My Beauty Counter
Time for a bit of voyeurism into my beauty counter. Here are some of the products that I’m using. From left to right:
1. Philosophy Amazing Grace Eau de Parfum $65 CAD, The Bay. During the daytime, I don’t like to wear anything too heavy, so this fragrance is a perfect light floral scent.
2. Benefit Erase Paste $28 CAD, Sephora. My bestie tells me all the time that I need to sleep earlier, but I need to blog! This concealer has been a mainstay in my routine for a while, it’s quite concentrated and creamy, working well for dark circles and the blemishes.
3. Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder (Part of a 4-piece HD Complexion Starter Kit $89 CAD), Sephora. Love this invisible finishing powder. Super fine, this keeps my shiny t-zone at bay. I blend it with a kabuki brush. You can buy the powder on its own or it’s available in a 4-piece kit right now.
4. Maybelline Superstay 14H Lipstick in Keep Me Coral $10 CAD, Drugstore. Maybelline lipsticks are my go-to-brand for drugstore. You know how you need a pick-me-up sometimes, drugstore lipsticks do the trick well. This is a new product, although advertised as a 14H lipstick, it’s not too heavy. Available in 20 shades & in stores in late January.
5. Essie Nail Polish in Brooch the Subject $10 CAD, Beauty Boutiques & Salons. This polish was in our Style Spy Gap swag bags back in November. This cashmere shade is so versatile. Essie polishes are worth the investment, they dry fast and are long-lasting.
6. Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Foundation (Part of a 4-piece HD Complexion Starter Kit $89 CAD), Sephora. I recently switched from the Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet foundation to the HD High Definition Foundation. Moving from a more full coverage foundation to a medium to full coverage foundation. I definitely have a healthier glow wearing this foundation.
7. Estee Lauder Daywear BB Multi-Perfecting Beauty Benefit Creme $51 CAD, The Bay. Another new product just hitting stores. BB creams are well-known in Asia. This cream is evens out your skin (it’s tinted) and contains skin nourishing ingredients – Estee Lauder calls theirs the Super Anti-Oxidant Complex, a combination that includes Vitamin C and E. I just started using this product, and it goes under my foundation. I’m going to give it another few days before I can give it a real review.

love essie’s brooch the subject. i have it on my nails right now
