Robson St. Facelift

In Vancouver, we all know our shopping street is Robson Street. I remember on the weekends, there used to be crowds, and the street was full of trendy specialty stores with fun memorabilia, and boutique food bars. Now you have to head into the boroughs of Gastown or cross the bridge to find boutique type stores.

But being a prime location, Robson has turned into a hub for some major retailers.  2012 looks like a promising year. Robson is getting a face lift so all you shopaholics, get ready!

Apple is coming…in the form of Canada’s second flagship store! As we know Apple is always crowded wherever they go and this addition fills in that tech void now that HMV is leaving us.

If you haven’t been on Robson Street in a while, Forever 21 is also on it’s way. Located by Aldo, the construction seems to be taking forever! But it’s coming, slowly but surely.

Walking on Robson on night I spotted two “Coming Soon” signs which I am really excited for, including J.Crew and CB2! J.Crew will be taking over Tommy Hilfiger and may even make its way into Pacific Centre!

CB2 will be located on street level of the new Pacific Palisades Rental units which is set to be ready in Spring! CB2 is Crate & Barrel’s younger sister. They offer affordable, home decor and furnishings for your apartment or loft! I cannot wait.

Now you may be wondering what they are going to do with such a large space such as HMV’s. There have been several rumours circulating including putting Apple’s flagship location there. Talk about prime real estate. But because it is such a high traffic location, rumours are that other businesses have been looking into it including Urban Outfitters and Simons which is a retailer from Quebec.

We have so much to look forward to for our 2012 Robson shopping experience! Ladies get your wallets ready!

  1. I think Simon’s would be great at the old HMV location! I really enjoy going there when I’m in Montreal
