Beautifully groomed brows, add that to a girl’s list of must-haves. They can be tricky, so I do recommend seeing a professional if you’re not that most comfortable with doing them on your own. My brows have always been a bit of a challenge. So I stopped by the new Bombay Brow Bar at the Shangri-La Hotel in Vancouver on Friday – a media preview of the third location of this brow chain.
Standing outside, the pink decor is rich and warm. Inside you’ll find three chairs to service you.
I finally got a chance to meet owner Ravy Minhas, we’ve emailed each other on more than a few occasions. Asked about her inspiration behind Bombay Brow Bar, she said it was her and her sister Amy’s obsession with brows growing up.
The Bombshell Brows service takes about 20 minutes. A brow specialist will assess your brow shape and give you three options for hair removal technique: threading, waxing and tweezing. I decided on the most popular option, threading. After the threading is done, I was given a quick brow massage with rose water gel – which smelled heavenly. My brows were then filled in with makeup. At $23 CAD, the service is more expensive than your typical threading spot, but the service isn’t typical – hence the up charge.
The Bombay Rose Gel they used, $23 CAD. You’ll also find other products like shadow for your brows, lip gloss, bangles and even chai tea.
Bombay Brow Bar is now open at the Shangri-La Hotel, 1113 Alberni Street, Vancouver. Monday to Friday, 10am-7pm, Saturday, 10am-6pm and Sunday, 11am-5pm.
