Straight ‘A’ Style

Congratulations, grads! Whether you’re closing the chapter of your high school or post secondary experience, graduation season is upon us. In addition to figuring out what to do with the rest of your life, it’s time to start planning your outfit for commencements.

It’s best to stay clear of layers of tulle or large adornments like bows, as they won’t allow your gown to sit flat and will just add more bulk. A pop of colour or a classic LBD are stylish options that will photograph well, and won’t look outdated when you look back on pictures.

Go for standout accessories that steal the attention away from that dreaded synthetic gown and cardboard hat. Sky-high stilettos may not be the most appropriate or practical for the occasion, but a dressier sandal, pump or wedge are all great options. Don a statement necklace or a simple pendant that holds some meaning for you.

Above all, go for chic comfort- you’ll want to look polished, but not fussy. And when the ceremony’s over, you’ll be ready to celebrate in style.
