Girl of the Week: Alice Ko

Alice, aka Koko Stilletto, is a chartered accountant with a passion for fashion, social media and savouring culinary treats. For the last three years, Alice called New York City home, where she supported her sample sale shopping and Broadway musical addiction by working in the finance group at LVMH Louis Vuitton. She recently returned to the west coast and is excited about reconnecting with the fashion community in Vancouver. Alice currently works at the Aritzia head office on the financial reporting team, and is also contributing to Wantering, an amazing new personalized fashion recommendation engine which transforms the way we find and purchase fashion trends online.

Wearing… Louis Vuitton Stellar Mahina Bag, Isola stilettos from Lord & Taylor, pants from Topshop at The Bay, shirt is from Nordstrom, scarf from Winners, Wilfred Chevalier blazer from Aritzia, Vivi Sun Design rings and Tarina Tarantino earrings.

My personal style is… Colourful, comfortable, & fun. I believe as long as you have confidence, you can pull anything off!  Yes you CAN mix that colour with that print.

First memorable fashion purchase… I remember exactly when my shoe obsession began. In 2004 I found the most amazing three inch pumps from Aldo in this colourful mosaic print. I still have them and they’ve actually started to crack on the bottom. They are immortalized now on my shelf. Ever since then I’ve been on the search for the most colourful and unique shoes.

Style icons… Kate Spade, Betsey Johnson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Zelda Kaplan, Lauren Santo Domingo, Nicole Richie, Norma Kamali, Katy Perry and I’m very inspired by Loeffler Randall and Irregular Choice.

Beauty product you swear by… I absolutely swear by Latisse, your eyelashes will grow into bushes! I’ve also been using Geisha Ink eyeliner for years thanks to Wink Beauty Lounge.

Autumn essentials… Mint hot chocolate, pumpkin soup, oversized coats, and boots!  I can’t wait for colour block boots, fur trimmed boots, textured boots, even rainboots!  I also really want to wear my Aritzia Mackage leather jacket again.

3 items in your bag… An iPhone, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment and a bottle of water.  I’m known as the bag lady to my friends. My old boss used to call me “lugguge.”

Most versatile item in your closet… The little black dress. I have so many LBDs it’s ridiculous. I love pairing chic black dresses with outrageous colourful heels. It’s funny – I only own two pair of pants, and I am wearing one of them today. I typically only wear dresses – they may look ‘dressy’, but are super easy to wear and run around in.

On the weekend you can find me… Hootsuiting, spinning at YYoga, blogging for Tunezy, socializing with friends, watching a show, reading, brunching and dessert-ing.

Favourite blogs… I’m a blog nut! Refinery 29, Racked, The Shoe Girl’s Blog, The Chriselle Factor, Style by Kling, Stiletto Chef, Notable, Amy Fabulous, Amber Rae, Girl Meets Life and Guest of a Guest.

Guilty pleasure… 80′s and 90′s music, grapefruit ice cream from Cadeaux Bakery and double cherrry pie from Hill Country Chicken.

Drink of choice… I swear by GT Dave’s Kombucha. It changed my skin. Thank you Andrea for introducing me to this magic potion. It’s a fermented tea that has 1 billion organisms of probiotics in each bottle.

Words to live by… “I can’t concentrate in flats” – Victoria Beckham.

Habits picked up from New York… Taking taxis everywhere, manicures all the time and not sleeping.
