Anita Ng is just a girl who is passionate about all things fashion from the nitty gritty non-glamorous side of the industry to the theatrical and often decadent couture shows and beyond. Anita has a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design and Technology and is currently working as a Technical Designer for Kensie/Mac & Jac. Her love affair has spanned more than a decade and even as a child she found herself cutting, nay, fashioning her mother’s blouse to fit her better by removing the sleeves…you could say it has always been in her. Currently, film, books, music and pugs are her obsessions. Today Anita enjoys reading, writing, photographing and styling fashion where ever and whomever she can. Meet Anita.
Wearing… Club Monaco Noelle blazer, Club Monaco Sunny tee, Just USA black jeans, vintage shoes, vintage Chanel purse with Forever 21 scarf.
My personal style… I’m a fashion juxtaposition mixing old with new, masculinity with femininity, 1912 with 2012 anything goes but always easy, comfortable; every piece has a story, a purpose.
First memorable fashion purchase… That is really hard. Every piece in my closet has a special memory for me but I guess if we’re talking about “first” then it would have to be my first pair of Miu Miu kitten heels: black sling backs with mesh detailing and really delicate laser cut leather flowers. I don’t wear them much these day but always look on them in admiration for the “lady” I wanted to be when I bought them. I think I was 20 at the time.
Skincare secret… My secret or the actual secret? Actual secret is rest, water and diet – not the starve yourself kind but the eating of whole foods kind. My secret: Burt’s Bees Radiance Facial Cleanser, lots of sunblock and Jack Black lip balm.
Your top 3 autumn essentials… A hat, a scarf and the tallest platform boots you can find – it’s so much easier on your feet and who doesn’t want to be taller?
Favourite way to unwind from a long day… Blog surfing, music blaring and a cup of tea with my dogs curled up at my feet.
One thing every girl should have… Modesty.
What can you never say no to… I have pretty good self-control, but vintage/antique furniture.
Dream dinner guests… An intimate dinner for 10 + myself. A blogger : Garance Dore, a photographer: Scott Schuman, a fashion designer: Tom Ford, a stylist: Patricia Field, an author: Paulo Coelho, an actor: James Franco, an actress: Marion Cotillard, a director: George Lucas, a musician: Michael Jackson (if he were here with us today) and his Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.
Top 3 favourite songs at the moment… The Enemy by The Raveonettes, Baby by Warpaint, and Wide Awake by Katy Perry (total guilty pleasure song but I love it).
Currently saving up for… A trip back to Europe!
