Girl of the Week: Jessika Chabot

Originally from Vancouver, and now based in Montreal, I met Jessika Chabot the first month I moved to the city. She’s the Community & Sales Manager for Uranium Jewelry, a line of “street fashion” jewelry and accessories started in Montreal in the late 90’s. Stopping by the showroom, I couldn’t help but ambush Jessika for Girl of the Week.

Wearing… H&M top, Gap pants, Camper booties, Essie’s ‘Trophy Wife’ Nail Polish, and all of my jewellery is Uranium.

My style is… Feminine, vintage with a 70’s twist, and slightly whimsical.

Fave places to shop… The classics – Zara & Aritzia (being a Vancouver girl and all), but I buy a lot of my clothing at sample sales in the building. I’m also a huge fan of picking-up pieces while hunting at thrift shops.

Most prized possession in my closet… My little min-pin x chihuahua, Chiquita, who, lately’s been curling up in my closet’s sock drawer.

Last purchase… A plane ticket to New Zealand – can’t wait!

Next purchase… Either a pair of cognac Chelsea booties or Karen Walker sunglasses.

I admire the style of… Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo, Whitney Port, Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Richie.

Beauty essentials… Since moving to Montreal, anything to keep from my hair and skin drying out-in the winter it’s all about the heavy duty hand and night cream. Oh, and I’m a rose-water addict.

Daily reads… Late Afternoon, Sincerely Jules, High Snobiety, PS I Made This, The Blonde Salad and Free People Blog. And, even though there are amazing reads online, I still love strolling through my local magazine shop and finding new, up & coming publications. Recently, I discovered one called Suitcase, which combines fashion & travel. A perfect combination in my world.

I take my coffee… Never been a coffee-drinker, but I LOVE my tea. My favourite? A creamy earl grey or spicy chai with honey and almond milk.

Next travel destination… New Zealand, but after that, hopefully Europe again-so much to see there!
