If you’ve always wanted to try false lashes, just go do it! It takes a little patience and practice, but they really make your eyes pop! Whether you want to spend a little or a lot, here are the best false lashes to buy that will have you fluttering those eyes away.
Ardell Lashes in Naomi Black, approx $6.99 CAD, London Drugs – Ardell lashes are the popular choice when it comes to drugstore lashes. For a night out, these lashes do the trick to give your makeup look a lil’ something extra. They come in a wide range of styles that fit all eye shapes and sizes. Because they are synthetic and the band is a bit flimsy, they don’t look super natural but they do the job to amp up your look.
Sephora Collection False Eye Lashes Mink, $12 CAD, Sephora – Sephora’s collection of mink lashes are lighter and softer than their synthetic lashes which make them more natural looking. While the lash length was way too long for me, big-eyed girls will find these a cost effective alternative to pricier mink lashes.
Shu uemura False Eyelashes Luxe Black, $27 CAD, online, Sephora or The Bay – Shu Uemura lashes are the workhorse of false lashes. The thicker band means they are robust and last multiple uses. I’ve used mine about 15-20 times. These synthetic lashes are based on the mink styles we often see on celebrities. While they don’t look super natural in the case, they do wear beautifully and naturally. Luxe Black is great if you like that dark and voluminous look. But if you want something a bit more unassuming and more appropriate for the day, try their other style called Soft Cross.
Whispie Me Away, $30 CAD, Velour Lashes – I’ve said it before, Velour Lashes are hands down my favourite. These babies are 100% mink (and just in case your wondering, no minks are harmed). They’re seriously the closest thing to real lash hairs and give you the look of lash extensions without the monthly visits. This style, Whispie Me Away has little lash clusters that really emphasis your eyes and make them sparkle. Mink lashes are super delicate but if you’re easy on the glue and take care of them when putting them on/taking them off, they will last up to 25 uses.
