I love cabins in the winter. I pounce at any chance I can get to go to one – I love everything about them. The cozy fires, drinking hot chocolate, sitting in hot tubs after a long day on the ski hill – but my favourite part? That would be that you get to wear extremely cozy, comfortable clothes all day and that it’s not only acceptable but encouraged. What more could you want? I spend a lot of my time dressed up and wearing heels for work and events, so for me getting to relax and be comfy is a major treat. We are going to be spending Christmas first in rural Ontario and then at a friend’s cabin in Quebec, and I’ve already started figuring out what to pack. I have a fair amount of cabin-appropriate items already, but there are a few things that I’ve seen online and in the shops that I’m very tempted to buy. Here are a few of the best things I’ve seen in case you’re going to be hitting the slopes (or just curling up in your apartment).
Nordic Sleep Leggings, $29 CAD, Joe Fresh – I will definitely be getting these Nordic leggings from Joe Fresh. They’d be perfect for wearing underneath snow pants out on the mountain but would look equally good (I was going to say ‘chic’ but I guess that’s not the word) with a camel coloured sweater.
Open Sleep Cardigan, $39 CAD, Joe Fresh – I bought this sweater recently and can personally attest that it is in fact as comfortable as it looks.
Buffalo David Bitton Three Piece Floral Bloom Pajama Set, $39.99 CAD, Hudson’s Bay – I really love pajama sets, and this one looks amazing. I love the print on the bottoms, and you could wear the top with any other pants which is a bonus!
Whisper Jersey Drapey Sweater Sweatpant, approx $51 CAD, J.Crew – I love this updated, more flattering take on classic sweats. These would be great to wear while traveling also.
Brio Nordic Funnel, $118 CAD, Roots – Have you ever seen something so perfect for a cabin? I didn’t think so. I feel like I need this sweater in my life – maybe I’ll put it on my Christmas wish list!
Cabin Socks 2-Pack, $18.50 CAD, Roots – Last but definitely not least are these extremely warm, aptly named ‘Cabin Socks’ from Roots. There’s nothing worse than cold feet and these are the perfect way to combat the cold.
